What is Gardnerella Vaginalis infection?
Gardnerella vaginalis is the most common cause of bacterial vaginitis in the sexually active mature patient. This infection usually reside in the female genital tracts and can be passed onto their partner through sexual contact.

How is Gardnerella vaginalis spread?
Gardnerella vaginalis passes from people to people by having unprotected vaginal, anal or oral sex with someone who have Gardenerella. If you have had Gardenerella infection and had been treated before, you can still be infected again through sexual activities.

What are the symptoms of Gardnerella infection?
The infection often produces a gray or yellow discharge with a “fishy” smell that elevates after washing with alkaline soaps.
・Other symptoms include pain during urination and irritation of the vulvar

How can it be treated? And what I do after treatment?
Antibiotics treatments
You and your sex partner are advised to have treatment if one of you is found to have candida infection

After the treatment:
Wait seven days to have a recheck of Gardnerella vaginalis after finishing all prescribed medications to ensure the infection is cleared
Abstain from sexual contact until the retest is showing a negative result in Gardnerella
